Defying Basic Common Sense, Mendoza Called Protecting Girls From Guys In Girls Sports and Bathrooms “Toxic”

TUCSON - A new ad featuring a Tucson mother of three was launched today by the Ciscomani for Congress campaign in response to Democratic congressional candidate JoAnna Mendoza, who labeled parents like her "toxic" for wanting to protect their daughters.

Like countless Arizona parents, Congressman Juan Ciscomani believes girls should compete against girls and be able to use girls' locker rooms and bathrooms without fear of men entering those spaces.

JoAnna Mendoza disagrees.

“She even wants guys in girls’ bathrooms,” said Katie, the mom in the ad. “There’s no way I could support anyone that would allow that to happen to my girls.”

Many Arizona parents share the same concern. 

That’s why JoAnna Mendoza has spent this campaign trying to cover up how extreme her views really are, but her record speaks for itself. Arizona voters deserve to know the real JoAnna Mendoza. 

Congressman Ciscomani is proud to back parents.

"Parents are fed up with being demonized by extremists like Mendoza for wanting to protect their girls," said Congressman Juan Ciscomani. "JoAnna Mendoza called parents 'toxic' because they want their girls to compete on a level playing field and feel safe in girls' locker rooms and bathrooms. She is wrong, and she is completely out of touch with the families of Arizona's Sixth Congressional District. Protecting girls’ sports, privacy, and safety is common sense. It's what Arizona families expect from their leaders, and it’s clear this is not where JoAnna Mendoza stands.”
