NEW AD: As Arizona Families Struggle to Make Ends Meet, Mendoza Fights for More Taxes
TUCSON - Congressman Juan Ciscomani's campaign released a new 30-second ad today, "Make Ends Meet," spotlighting the everyday financial pressure Arizona families face just to get by, and the stark contrast between Ciscomani's fight to cut taxes and JoAnna Mendoza's record of pushing for more.
Joanna Mendoza wants voters to believe she's on their side, but her record says otherwise. She's said there should be "no new tax cuts, no new tax credits, and no sales tax exemptions" for Arizona families already stretched thin. Before running for Congress, Mendoza worked as a lobbyist pushing for higher taxes, making the American Dream even further out of reach for the families working hardest to reach it.
While she fought to raise taxes on every Arizona family, Mendoza was caught pocketing a homeowner's property tax break she wasn't entitled to, saving her more than $800 over two years. It's one set of rules for Arizona families, and another for Joanna Mendoza.
Ciscomani has taken the opposite approach, delivering real tax relief for working Arizonans. He backed no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and the Working Families Tax Cut, a combined $169.8 million increase in the small business tax deduction for more than 89,000 AZ-06 businesses, plus tax relief for seniors and working families across the district. For Ciscomani, the answer is simple. Hardworking people deserve to keep more of what they earn.
“Arizona families are doing everything right and still falling behind,” said Congressman Juan Ciscomani. “They are working extra shifts, cutting back on groceries, putting off bills, just trying to make ends meet. Joanna Mendoza looked at that and decided the answer was more taxes for everybody except herself. That is not leadership, it’s hypocrisy, and Arizonans deserve to know it before they vote. I came to this country from Mexico when I was five years old. I watched my dad get up every day to drive a bus so our family could have a shot at the American Dream. That's why I will never stop fighting for the hardworking people chasing that same dream today.”
