JoAnna Mendoza's own words opposing protections for girls' sports and private spaces highlighted in new TV ad
TUCSON - A new television ad, "Toxic”, launched today revealing the true position of JoAnna Mendoza, Democrat candidate running in Arizona’s 6th congressional district. Hear in Mendoza’s own words her opposition to legislation to protect girls' sports and private spaces.
The ad features Mendoza calling legislation that prevents biological males from competing in girls' sports "harmful" and "toxic" before outlining her support for policies that would allow biological males to compete in women's sports, access girls' bathrooms and locker rooms, and require taxpayer-funded coverage for transgender sex-change procedures.
"JoAnna Mendoza continues to embrace positions that are far outside the mainstream and out of step with Arizona families," said Daniel Scarpinato, Ciscomani for Congress General Consultant. "This ad lets voters hear directly from Mendoza in her own words. Congressman Ciscomani believes girls deserve a fair playing field, parents deserve a voice, and common sense should prevail."
The ad centers on an interview in which Mendoza was asked whether she supported legislation prohibiting transgender girls and women from participating in girls' and women's sports.
Mendoza responded in the interview: "Legislation like the one that you mentioned is harmful. It's toxic. It takes away from who we are as Americans."
The campaign said the ad is part of its ongoing effort to highlight the clear contrast between Ciscomani's focus on public safety, economic opportunity, and protecting Arizona families, and Mendoza's support for policies that are out of touch with voters in Arizona's Sixth Congressional District.
