TUCSON - The National Border Patrol Council officially endorsed Congressman Juan Ciscomani for re-election in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District, reaffirming its strong support for his unwavering commitment to Border Patrol agents and his proven record of delivering meaningful results. The endorsement underscores Ciscomani’s effective leadership and relentless advocacy for stronger border security—an issue that remains vital to protecting Arizona communities, securing the nation’s borders, and supporting the men and women on the front lines of law enforcement.
“We've had the pleasure of working with Congressman Ciscomani for years, dating back to his work with Governor Doug Ducey on southern Arizona border operations, long before he ever ran for Congress,” said Hector Andujo, President of the National Border Patrol Council. “Over the years, Juan has proven that he'll show up, listen, and deliver results. During the government shutdown, he even withheld his own pay to stand with Border Patrol agents who weren't getting paid through no fault of their own. That's why we know we can count on Juan to stand with us when it matters most. We're proud to endorse him for re-election to a third term.”
The endorsement comes as Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District remains one of the nation’s most closely watched House races, where border security remains a top issue for voters. Ciscomani, who immigrated to Tucson from Mexico at age five and became the first naturalized U.S. citizen from Mexico elected to Congress from Arizona, has built a record of working directly with Border Patrol agents to advance practical, on-the-ground solutions that secure the border and support the communities who live with its realities every day.
As Vice Chair of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, and the only member of Arizona’s congressional delegation from either party or chamber to serve on the Appropriations Committee, Ciscomani has delivered resources for the agents who patrol Arizona’s Sixth District’s border communities. He led passage of the Pay Our Homeland Defenders Act to guarantee Border Patrol agents and DHS employees continue receiving pay during government funding lapses, and helped secure additional agents, retention bonuses, and equipment funding through the Working Families Tax Cuts Act. He has also introduced the FLASH Act to strengthen public safety on federal lands along the southern border, co-introduced bipartisan legislation to establish Joint Operations Centers coordinating federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement at the border, and cosponsored legislation to combat fentanyl trafficking and strengthen border interdiction efforts.
