Ciscomani’s Record of Results Faces off Against Mendoza’s Extreme Agenda

TUCSON - With Arizona’s primary election now complete, Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District is officially headed to a November showdown between Congressman Juan Ciscomani and Democrat lobbyist JoAnna Mendoza. In one of the nation’s most closely watched battleground races, voters face a clear choice: a proven leader with a bipartisan record of delivering results, or a lobbyist whose increasingly extreme positions have exposed just how out of touch she is with the values and priorities of the district.

As the race shifts into its next phase, Ciscomani says the contrast between the two candidates will only become clearer in the months ahead. 

“From day one, my focus has been to deliver results for the people of Arizona's Sixth District,” said Ciscomani. “In my first three and a half years in Congress, I've done exactly that — and I'm proud to have earned the trust of voters and leaders across the district because of it. From securing our border and supporting our veterans, to fighting to lower costs for our families, I'll keep showing up for Arizona. Every week, voters are learning more about her agenda and seeing just how out of touch it is with the values of the district.”

Since first being elected to Congress in 2022, Ciscomani has established himself as one of the most effective lawmakers in the country. The nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking ranked him the most effective member of Arizona's congressional delegation during the 118th Congress and one of the most effective freshman members of Congress nationwide, with multiple pieces of his legislation advancing through Congress and becoming law.

As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, Ciscomani has directed millions of federal dollars back into Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District, including $4.2 million to modernize the Tucson Police Department's fleet, $9.2 million in Community Project Funding for public safety in Oro Valley, Sahuarita, and Cochise County, and the new defense mission he helped secure for Fort Huachuca, worth an estimated $3 billion in economic impact for the region.

On the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, Ciscomani has delivered for the nearly 80,000 veterans who call AZ-06 home — one of the largest veteran populations of any congressional district in the country. He introduced the bipartisan Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act, the flagship veterans package that passed the House 389-9, and has led bipartisan legislation to reduce the VA disability claims backlog and expand veteran job training and employment programs.

Over the past few months, a bipartisan coalition of local elected officials from every county in AZ-06 has endorsed Ciscomani's campaign, including 11 county supervisors, seven local mayors, and law enforcement leaders across the district who cite his record of delivering results and standing up for public safety.

Arizona's Sixth Congressional District remains one of the nation's premier battlegrounds. Ciscomani has now won two consecutive elections in one of the country's closest districts, defeating Kirsten Engel by 1.5 points in 2022 and expanding that margin to 2.5 points in their 2024 rematch. His 2026 Democratic opponent, JoAnna Mendoza, has already raised millions from out-of-state Democratic donors eager to flip the seat. However, voters have learned in the last few weeks just how out of touch JoAnna Mendoza is with Arizona values. 

Mendoza's record:

• Calls protections for girls' sports and keeping boys out of girls' locker rooms and bathrooms "harmful" and "toxic”. 

• Supports taxpayer-funded transgender sex change surgeries. 

• Opposed Ciscomani's Working Families Tax Cuts Act, stating there should be “no new tax cuts, no new tax credits, or sales tax exemptions.”

• Supports the decriminalization of prostitution for transgender people.

• Paid herself more than $35,000 directly from campaign contributions.

• Slashed her reported net worth by 93% from as much as $4.7 million to just $336,000 and failed to disclose a Tucson rental property worth up to $500,000.

"While my opponent spent her primary burning through cash and relying on support from out-of-state donors and special interest groups, we've spent the last several years delivering results for Arizona," Ciscomani added. "National Democrats may see this district as an opportunity to gain another radical left rubberstamp, but as voters learn more about JoAnna Mendoza's record and positions, they're seeing just how out of step she is with the values of Arizonans. Her agenda is simply too extreme for this district. Arizona’s Sixth District is my home, and we've earned the trust of local leaders and voters by delivering results, and that's exactly what I'll continue to do through November and beyond."

Voters have a clear choice this November. Someone who represents the values of this district, and someone who is completely out of touch.
